CUPE representatives aren’t pleased with the funding headed to the school boards for next year.
In a provided statement, Educational Assistant and President of CUPE’s Ontario School Boards Council of Unions Joe Tigani says the province isn’t doing enough.
Per-pupil funding is increasing 1.86% next year, below the inflation projection of 2.6%, which Tigani says shortchanges students.
Tigani said that they’re ignoring the needs of students.
The union says the funding doesn’t invest in frontline staffing that would improve the lives of students and parents.
