OPP Investigation and Enforcement Bureau (IEB) has charged two people after investigating a suspicious lottery win reported by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).
On December 14, 2023, the OPP IEB, working with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), received information from the OLG about a suspicious $50,000 lottery ticket win at a store in Mitchell. It is believed that a store employee stole the winning ticket, and an associate of the employee later claimed the prize.
Following the investigation, a 44 year old from Mitchell and a 51 year old from Stratford have been arrested and charged.
