Bayfield is the stage for the annual Virtual High School Run 4 Kids on Saturday (June 15), a family-friendly event that promises fun for all ages.
With a variety of activity options, the event has become an annual opportunity for the school staff to give back to the community.
That was Katrina Clarke, Executive Director of Rural Response for Healthy Children, – the beneficiary of this year’s Run 4 Kids.
Rural Response for Healthy Children works with families, caregivers, and children to enhance wellbeing within homes. Their core operations include parenting education programs, initiatives focused on healthy relationships, and peer support groups for families with unique needs, such as grandparents raising grandchildren.
Clarke says that Virtual High School has chosen their organization due to their shared dedication to supporting families.
This year, the organizers aim to raise $5,000 – funds raised from the event will support various Rural Response programs in the community, enabling the organization to expand programming, particularly in the Bayfield area.
Looking ahead, Clarke hopes the Run 4 Kids funds will allow for more family-oriented programming like walk-and-talk sessions and family nature explorations.
The community is known for its generosity, with donors and volunteers showing unwavering support.
Registration for the VHS Run 4 Kids is open until June 14 at www.vhsrun4kids.com. Participants can also register on the day of the event from 7:00 am to 9:00 am. The registration fee is $30 for adults online or $35 on the day, with special rates for families and children.
