The historic Lancaster Bomber made a triumphant return to Goderich Airport this morning, drawing an unprecedented crowd that caused traffic backups stretching all the way to Kincardine.
Goderich Legion President Randy Carroll shared his excitement and pride at the event this morning.

The turnout was overwhelming, with traffic backed up over five miles towards Kincardine, and well into the town of Goderich. Carroll noted the massive interest and support from the community.
Attendees were treated to a once-in-a-lifetime experience, with opportunities to explore the interior of the Lancaster – the line to get inside snaked across the pavement, with well over two hours wait to view it. Carroll said he was among the first to take a look inside.
The Goderich Legion also auctioned off two seats for a flight tomorrow, raising $4,300 per seat for the Lions Club.
The significance of the date added to the event’s importance.
