The Municipality of South Huron, County of Huron and South Huron Chamber of Commerce hosted a bustling job fair on Thursday afternoon (June 13).
Stacey Jeffery, Community Relations Manager for the Municipality, noted the vibrant atmosphere, with some attendees showing up early and a steady stream of traffic throughout the event.

Within the first hour, over 30 individuals had already made their way through the fair, indicating strong community engagement and enthusiasm.
Extending beyond employers seeking workers, there were also comprehensive support services available at the job fair – from Huron Shores Area Transit, to the County Immigration Partnership. Jeffrey pointed out the vital role that transit, and employment services (for example) play in ensuring that job seekers can reach potential employers, enhancing the overall effectiveness of the event.
The sentiment among both job seekers and providers was positive, with a focus on the critical connections being made. Jeffery mentioned that these connections contribute significantly to the overall stability and success of the community.
From the municipality’s perspective, supporting such events is crucial.
Hosting and supporting job fairs is one way the municipality ensures that everyone has access to the resources they need, ultimately benefiting the entire community.
