Two individuals are facing several Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) charges after a drug trafficking investigation in Exeter.
In June 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) in London launched an investigation into two individuals suspected of trafficking illegal substances in Exeter and the surrounding Huron County area. On June 25th, the investigative team executed a search warrant in Exeter, assisted by the Huron-Perth Community Street Crime Unit and the Huron County OPP Detachment.
The search warrant resulted in the seizure of approximately 255 grams of suspected fentanyl, 33 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 26 suboxone tablets, five morphine tablets, 42 unknown tablets, a suspected cutting agent, 19 rounds of shotgun shells, two digital scales, $1,280 CAD, and two cell phones. The estimated street value of the drugs is $13,700.
A 29 year old Female and a 35 year old male, both of Exeter, face multiple CDSA charges. Johns is also charged with possession of ammunition contrary to a prohibition order. The accused were remanded into custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich on a later date.
