Find some treasure that’s new to you, at the 75th annual Pioneer Park Rummage Sale.
Committee member Wendy Fredricks says that the rummage sale is not just about finding hidden gems at bargain prices; it’s a community event where everyone can come together to breathe new life into pre-loved items.
With everything from outdoor furniture, to clothing and bicycles, there’s something for everyone. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the sale, which has grown exponentially over the years. After a two-year hiatus due to COVID, the event is back in full swing.
It’s coming up tomorrow, July 12th, marking the official kick-off to the summer season and everything will be moved to the Bayfield Community Centre. Outdoor furniture will be displayed from 5:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. The event also features a silent auction with some of the more valuable items up for grabs.
Fredricks, who is relatively new to the community, has historically been more of a donor than a buyer at the sale – she says that it provides a great opportunity for her to clean out unused items, and pass them along to someone else that could use them, while also supporting a great cause.
The park maintains a water access for the public, and a beautiful view of the sunset that’s available to everyone. Whether you’re looking for a unique find or simply want to support a good cause, the Pioneer Park Rummage Sale is the place to be this July.
