Police are still looking for witnesses in a murder investigation in Central Huron.
Investigators got information that two people might have been in the forested area near the former Holmesville Public School on Cut Line Road between 12:00 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. on July 2, 2024. Police think these individuals have details that could help the investigation but haven’t spoken up yet.
The investigation started on July 2nd, at 4:18 p.m. That’s when the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews responded to an address on Cut Line Road, between Parr Line and Tipperary Line. They found a young person there, took them to the hospital, but unfortunately, they later died.
The person accused, whose name is protected by the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is still in jail.
The Huron County OPP Crime Unit is still investigating, with help from OPP Forensic Identification Services and working with the Office of the Chief Coroner.
We know people are interested in this case, but we’re asking everyone to respect the families’ privacy and the publication bans ordered by the court.
