There are two-and-a-half million people in Ontario who don’t have a family doctor.
That’s according to the Ontario College of Family Physicians, which says an additional 160-thousand people in the province are without a doctor since the last count was released six months ago.
Long-time family doctor, Dr. Gary Perkin had THIS REACTION to the numbers.
Dr. Perkin says this makes family medicine much less attractive for new grads to go into. He also says too many family doctors get too bogged down with paperwork!
Dr. Perkin says it’s TOUGH for them to always have to tell desperate people they aren’t taking new patients.
