The MacKay Centre for Seniors in Goderich has received $51,137 in provincial funding to help seniors stay fit, healthy, and active. This funding is part of Ontario’s Seniors Active Living Centres programs, which connect seniors with resources and activities.
Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson praised the MacKay Centre as a key community hub in Goderich, noting its high standards and commitment to bringing seniors together through various activities and programs.
As of June 1st, 2024, changes to the Seniors Active Living Centre’s Act allow more types of organizations, like legions, Lions Clubs, and other social and recreational clubs, to deliver these programs. There are currently 316 Seniors Active Living Centre programs across Ontario.
