The Multicultural Association of Perth Huron (MAPH) is gearing up for its 13th Multicultural Festival in Exeter.
The event, set to take place in Exeter’s Downtown Parkette on Main Street, will feature international food, music, and activities for all ages. The festival aims to celebrate cultural diversity and thank the community for its support.
Admission to the event is by donation, and attendees can enjoy a variety of international foods, including dishes from Ukraine, India, and the Middle East. A Ukrainian chef will offer gluten-free bread, and barbecue hotdogs will also be available.
Musical entertainment will include performances by Tavistock-based Punjabi folksinger Hira Dhariwal and his band. Children’s activities will be available, such as face painting and a bouncy castle.
Donations collected at the festival will support MAPH’s mobile food bank, which provides food, diapers, feminine hygiene products, and grocery gift cards to those in need across the region.
MAPH offers free services to newcomers, including employment assistance, transportation to appointments, and help with documentation. The association plans to host more multicultural festivals in the region this summer. For updates or to donate, visit maph.ca or email info@maph.ca.
The festival kicks-off today from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
