Lambton County Library cardholders can now borrow telescopes from their local library. The telescopes let you view things like planets, the moon, and stars.
Darlene Coke, Manager of Library Services explains what the Library is planning.
Each Telescope Kit includes a Celestron Travel Scope 80 Telescope, a tripod, and a smartphone adapter for photos.
The new kits are designed to inspire curiosity and interest in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.
The kits are compact and come with a backpack, making them easy to use for people of all ages. August is a great time to borrow a kit because the Perseid meteor shower peaks around August 12th and 13th.
You can borrow a Telescope Kit for up to seven days with a valid Lambton County Library card. Library cards are free for anyone living, working, studying, or owning property in Lambton County, or for residents of First Nations communities in Ontario.
