- Great Lakes Custom Knife Show @ 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. The 1st Annual Great Lakes Custom Knife Show was hosted in 2022 on the eastern shoreline of Lake Huron in the historic village of Bayfield, Ontario. Between the years of 1996 and 2001, Wolfgang and Dianne Loerchner hosted The Canadian National Art Knife Show at the same location, the Bayfield Town Hall. The Great Lakes Custom Knife Show was created as a tribute to the earlier Bayfield shows and everything Wolfe has done for the Canadian knifemaking community. The response to the inaugural show was so positive that for 2023 we made the difficult decision to move to a larger venue in Goderich, Ontario. About 20 minutes north of Bayfield, keeping close to the shoreline, maintaining our connection with the lake and the show’s roots. With so many talented knifemakers in Canada and so few opportunities to display work publicly and in-person, it’s high time Canada had a new knife show. We hope you can join us in August to celebrate the Canadian knife community.

This year’s theme is “Farms, Food & Family”. The Bayfield Community Fair has something for everyone throughout the weekend: Friday night Rib Dinner and fireworks, Saturday morning parade, homecraft exhibits, entertainment for kids during the day, 4-H dairy and sheep competitions, horse shows, and an evening Rock Revival concert in partnership with the Bayfield Town Hall, as well as unique events and activities for all ages, competitions, demonstrations, food trucks, vendors, educational displays, and so much more! - Blyth Festival Theatre: The Trials of Maggie Pollock @ 2:00 pm – 4:30 pm. Seer? Swindler? Sorcerer? The true story of the last woman in Canada to be convicted of witchcraft…and who just so happened to have been born in Blyth! Arrested on her home farm just outside of town, held in the historic Gaol near Lake Huron, and tried in Goderich court, her case went all the way to the Supreme Court of Ontario. Long after the arrival of the telephone, the motor-car, and the electric light bulb, Maggie Pollock faced off against official superstition in Canada’s courts.
- Blyth Festival Theatre: Resort to Murder @ 8:00 pm – 10:30 pm. A laugh-a-minute murder mystery. When Brett and Viv inherit an old family mansion on Lake Huron, they dream of starting a country resort, but the couple have very different visions of what a tourist destination should be. For Viv: a spa, and quiet retreat. For Brett: a murder mystery themed escape room…obviously. Just a few nights before they welcome their first guests, Brett and Viv gather their reluctant staff in the attic for a trial run. When a sudden storm rolls in off the lake, the lights go out, and the doors lock, their light-hearted game suddenly turns into an electrifying night of murderous confessions, twists and turns that will leave you breathless. Enjoy your stay!
