The drivers for the 44th Annual Charity Driver’s Challenge are ready to race in support of local legions. This event will end Clinton Raceway’s 15-week harness racing season on Sunday, September 1st.
Rick Smith from the Exeter Legion says there will be many other activities planned for the day besides the races.
Fans will get to watch the top six dash-winning drivers — James MacDonald, Travis Henry, Garrett Rooney, Samuel Fillion, Travis Cullen, and last year’s champion, Tyler Borth — compete alongside J Harris, Todd Ratchford, and the leading two drivers from Clinton in this year’s challenge.
All the drivers are donating their winnings to the Royal Canadian Legion branches in Clinton, Seaforth, and Exeter, which will also hold fundraising activities at the event.
There will also be an opportunity to win $500 in the Driver’s Challenge Challenge, and don’t miss the RCMP Musical Ride after the races.
The day will feature a 50/50 draw and silent auction, along with the last chicken BBQ under the current grandstand.
