The Tailgate Music Festival is coming to Mitchell this fall at Keterson Park tonight!. This country music event aims to be a big celebration, even though it’s not a traditional tailgate.
The West Perth Village Seniors’ Community board is raising funds for its new 128-bed facility, which opened in March 2023. They committed to raising $5 million, with only $410,000 left to reach their goal. Events like this festival are seen as a final push to help meet that target. While the concert won’t cover all the remaining funds, organizers are hopeful it will be a success, with 2,500 to 3,000 people expected to attend.
West Perth Village has partnered with Spottydawg Productions to bring several country music acts to the festival. Headlining the event will be Steven Lee Olsen from Newmarket, performing alongside artists like Bradley Hale, Adam Cousins, and Max Smith, who have local ties. Janna Leduc and Amelia Jordan will also take the stage.
The event hopes to mirror the success of other country festivals like Boots & Hearts, though this will be a one-night-only concert. There will be food trucks and a refreshment tent at Keterson Park, with the main stage set up near the arena.
Tickets are $59.99 at the door. They can be purchased at West Perth Village, Turning Heads Salon & Spa in Mitchell, or Joe’s Diner and The Boar’s Head in Stratford. Families are welcome, and doors will open at 5 p.m., with performances running from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Parking will be available on-site for a fee, with additional spaces at the nearby high school and Upper Thames lots.
The name “Tailgate Music Festival” was chosen to appeal to country music fans and bring a festive vibe to the event.
