It’s National School Bus Safety Week running from Oct 21-25 but practicing safe bus habits is something that should be done every time you enter or exit a bus. Held during the third full week of October each year, National School Bus Safety Week is an active and evolving public education program and an excellent way for parents, students, teachers, motorists, school bus operators, school administrators, and other interested parties – to join forces and address the importance of school bus safety.
Designed to promote school bus safety, school districts throughout the country observe School Bus Safety Week. Kevin Lang, owner of Langs Bus Lines in Strathroy has some reminders to help keep everyone on the bus safe.
Langs says this week is very important for a number of reasons.
Bus Safety Week isn’t just about safety on the bus, but off the bus too. When driving it is very important to watch your surroundings and keep an eye out for children entering and exiting buses, while watching for buses with their red lights on.
