The Municipality of Lambton Shores has appointed Rebecca Clothier as the new Director of Financial Services. She will take over after the retirement of the current director, Janet Ferguson, who is finishing her 30-year career with the Municipality at the end of 2024.
Clothier brings over 20 years of experience in municipal finance and administration, most recently as Deputy Chief Administrative Officer/Treasurer for the Township of Perth South. She has also worked in financial roles with the City of London and the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing. Her skills in municipal budgeting, financial reporting, and strategic planning will support Lambton Shores as it continues to grow.
Clothier will officially join the leadership team on November 25. Ferguson will remain with the Municipality during the transition period to help prepare the 2025 draft budget and ensure a smooth handover of responsibilities.
The Director of Financial Services is responsible for all duties of the municipal treasurer and manages the Municipality’s financial operations. This role also includes developing the annual operating and capital budgets for Council’s review. Lambton Shores Council will start its budget discussions in January.
