On Saturday, November 16, Lisa Thompson, MPP for Huron-Bruce, will speak at the grand opening of the Brussels Morris and Grey Community Centre. The new addition to the center brings modern dressing rooms, upgraded washrooms, a new lobby, a fitness gym, and a viewing area, giving the community improved spaces for sports and recreation.
The $8.4 million project received major funding from the Province of Ontario and the Government of Canada, contributing over $3.5 million combined. Additional support came from the Municipality of Huron East, the Municipality of Morris-Turnberry, and a community fundraising campaign that raised more than $2.5 million.
These updates mark a significant improvement for the center, helping it serve athletes, families, and fans with new amenities and supporting both current and future activities. This project aims to make recreational activities more accessible and enjoyable for everyone, contributing to a healthier, more active community.
