Today is Crabby Joe’s game day. The Exeter Hawks face off against Mount Brydges tonight at 8pm at the South Huron Recreation Centre in Exeter.
Exeter Hawks defenceman Rourke McEwan has become a key player for the team, bringing skill and passion to the ice. Rourke grew up in St. Marys, Ontario, just 30 minutes from Exeter. Like many Canadian kids, he was introduced to hockey at a young age.
His early years were spent playing minor hockey locally in St. Marys, before making the leap to AAA hockey. Now in his second year with Exeter, Rourke plays as a defenceman, a position he’s held for as long as he can remember.
Rourke highlighted the close bond he shares with his teammates and the coaching staff.
When asked about his favorite part of being on the team, Rourke emphasized the competitive yet friendly atmosphere.
The team currently sits 1st in the West Yeck Division, but Rourke’s goals for the season are clear.
Rourke noted that one standout feature of playing for the Hawks is the passionate fan base.
Looking ahead, Rourke had a message for Hawks fans ahead of their game tonight against Mount Brydges.
With his determination and strong connection to the team, Rourke is undoubtedly an essential part of the Hawks’ quest for success this season.
