Huron County OPP has charged two residents from London after a theft at a Goderich store on January 7th. Around 8:00 p.m., store staff contacted the police, reporting a theft and providing descriptions of the suspects and their vehicle. Officers later found the vehicle parked on Huron Road near Seaforth and located the two suspects nearby. The vehicle had been reported stolen from London, and police also found stolen items and a prohibited knife.
A 28-year-old from London, was charged with theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and unauthorized possession of a weapon. He was held in custody for a court appearance in Goderich.
A 35-year-old also from London, was charged with theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, unauthorized possession of a weapon, obstructing a peace officer, and failing to comply with a probation order. He was also held in custody for a court appearance in Goderich.
Police are seeking witnesses who may have seen the suspects walking on Huron Road near Seaforth between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on January 7th. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Huron OPP.
