Another day, another extreme cold warning! Goderich, Bluewater, and Southern Huron County are facing bitter cold today, with wind chills between minus 30 and minus 35. Thankfully, the Arctic air bringing this deep freeze should ease up tonight as temperatures rise.
Such extreme cold can be dangerous for everyone. Watch for signs of trouble like shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle aches, weakness, or numbness in fingers and toes. Frostbite can happen fast on uncovered skin, so bundle up in layers, with a wind-resistant outer layer, and keep skin protected.
Remember to check on elderly family members, friends, and neighbors. And don’t forget about your pets—if it’s too cold for you outside, it’s too cold for them too. Stay safe and stay warm!
