U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that his new tariffs on Canadian imports will take effect Saturday.
Despite Canadian efforts to address U.S. concerns, President Trump says there are still a number of concerns that make these tariffs necessary.
Trump added that oil may or may not be part of the tariffs, that decision is still being made, and that the sweeping 25% tariffs may increase over time.
President Trump said a final decision would be made soon on that matter.
Trump also warned that the 25% tariffs on all Canadian goods may increase over time if concerns around the border are not properly addressed.
