The Tanner Steffler Foundation will host “Mental Health 101” at the Exeter Library on Wednesday, February 5th, 2025, from 4 to 5 p.m. This interactive session is designed to help young people understand the basics of mental health, how it affects their lives, and why it matters to them.
Using a text message-style format, the presentation is engaging and relatable, allowing students to participate in a “choose your own adventure” activity where they discuss and respond to various questions. The session will cover common mental health challenges faced by Canadian youth, the factors contributing to poor mental health or illness, and how stigma impacts individuals. Participants will also explore the importance of self-care, how to recognize when help is needed, where to find support, and how to better support others who may be struggling.
This event offers a safe space for young people to learn about mental health and start meaningful conversations about it.
