A 34-year-old Central Huron resident has been charged with impaired driving after police responded to a call from a concerned citizen in Bayfield.
On the evening of February 13th, Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report about a suspected impaired driver in the Village of Bayfield, Municipality of Bluewater. Officers arrived at the scene, spoke with the driver, and determined they were impaired.
The driver was arrested and taken to the Huron County OPP detachment, where they underwent further testing by an OPP Drug Recognition Expert.
As a result, the driver has been charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs. The vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.
The accused was later released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.
