First-time candidate Nick McGregor finished third in the Huron-Bruce provincial election, earning 11.8% of the vote. While it wasn’t the result he had hoped for, he says the experience was incredibly valuable.
McGregor reflected on the challenges of campaigning, especially during a winter election, but said the biggest takeaway was the chance to connect with voters and learn about the diverse issues affecting the community.
Looking back on his campaign, he is most proud of his commitment to attending every debate and taking every opportunity to engage with voters.
To those who cast their ballot for him, McGregor expressed deep gratitude. He acknowledged that voting is an act of trust and said he was honored by the support he received.
Despite the outcome, McGregor’s passion for community engagement remains strong, and he says this election was just the beginning of his political journey.
