Ian Burbidge, the second-place candidate in the 2025 provincial election for Huron-Bruce, says he is grateful for the support he received and remains committed to helping his community. Burbidge secured 28% of the vote, marking an improvement for his party in the riding compared to previous elections.
Reflecting on the campaign, Burbidge said he was deeply moved by the faith and trust voters placed in him. While he acknowledged disappointment in not being able to take those concerns to Queen’s Park, he remains optimistic about making a difference in other ways.
He emphasized that meaningful change doesn’t always have to come through government and pledged to continue advocating for public education, healthcare, and support for vulnerable residents.
One of the most rewarding aspects of his campaign, Burbidge said, was the personal conversations he had with people across Huron-Bruce. He described the experience as eye-opening, allowing him to better understand the struggles and aspirations of residents.
Despite the election results, Burbidge believes his journey in public service is far from over. He hopes to use the knowledge and connections he gained to continue working for positive change in the community.
