The Municipality of North Middlesex has been awarded $1,898,943 from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation’s Housing Accelerator Fund (HAF), Round 2. The funding will be used to complete the de-sludging of the Parkhill lagoons, a key step in supporting housing growth in the area.
This investment will help remove barriers and speed up housing projects in North Middlesex. It will support efforts to increase housing density in residential areas, use municipal land to address housing shortages, and encourage mixed-use developments. The funding will also help create more affordable, climate-resilient housing and introduce a new system to make planning and permits faster and more efficient.
The municipality is excited about the positive impact this funding will have on the growth and development of the community.
“Our government is committed to removing barriers and cutting red tape to enable housing development, and these partnerships with Ontario communities like with the The Municipality of
North Middlesex will do just that.”— The Honourable Nathaniel Erskine-Smith, Minister of Housing, Infrastructure and Communities
