A special weather statement is in effect for Exeter, Goderich, Bluewater, and Southern Huron County as rain and melting snow are expected to create challenging conditions. The frozen ground will have difficulty absorbing the rainfall, increasing the risk of water pooling and localized flooding.
Rainfall amounts between 15 to 25 mm are expected from tonight through Wednesday. Some areas could see even higher amounts, especially if thunderstorms develop Wednesday afternoon and evening.
With heavy rain and mild temperatures in the forecast, low-lying areas may experience flooding, and roads could become slick with standing water. Residents are encouraged to stay alert and check for updates from local conservation authorities or the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry for the latest flood information.
