Two residents of Central Huron are safe and recovering after being rescued from their tractor near the Maitland River when a sudden flash flood left them stranded.
The incident happened on March 6th, just before 1:00 p.m., when the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a distress call.
Emergency crews responded immediately. Rescuers determined the safest way to reach the stranded individuals and used an inflatable boat to bring them back to shore, where paramedics were waiting. They were taken to a local hospital as a precaution and are expected to make a full recovery.
