The “Stay Focused” road safety campaign is underway to remind drivers to keep their full attention on the road. Constable Richard Trgovcevic from the Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team spoke about the dangers of distracted driving, especially for commercial truck drivers.
Constable Trgovcevic stressed that driving requires focus on three things.
The “Stay Focused” campaign will run for the next four weeks with increased police presence. Officers will be watching for drivers who fail to make safety a priority. Constable Trogavich urged everyone to stay focused, put their phones away, and speak up if they see a driver acting dangerously.
The goal is to ensure everyone gets home safely to their families.
