Women looking to better understand and navigate menopause are invited to an engaging and educational evening at the Huron County Museum in Goderich on March 13th from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Due to high demand, the museum has partnered with Judy Gardiner, a Menopause Society Certified Provider, and Kelly McIntosh, General Manager of the Stratford Perth Museum, to bring this informative seminar to Huron County. In 2024, their educational sessions on midlife women’s health sold out six times, proving the need for open discussion and expert guidance on this important stage of life.
The event will feature a variety of activities, including a History of Menopause Exhibit, which explores how women’s health has been managed throughout history. Kelly McIntosh will offer insights into how menopause has been understood across cultures and why it has often been overlooked in medical research.
Judy Gardiner will lead a seminar aimed at helping women, partners, and healthcare providers understand perimenopause and menopause. She will discuss ways to advocate for proper care, identify and navigate misinformation, and explore different approaches to symptom management, including lifestyle changes, non-hormonal treatments, and menopause hormone therapy.
Attendees will also have the chance to participate in a Q&A session to get answers to their personal questions (without medical advice). The evening will include music, snacks, a curated book list on perimenopause and menopause, and a cash bar by Cowbell Brewing Co.
Tickets are $40 plus tax and fees, or $35 for Huron County Museum members, and can be purchased online at Stratford Perth Museum.
