It’s Crabby Joe’s game day. The Exeter Hawks face off against the Port Stanley Sailors at 7:30pm at the South Huron Recreation Centre in Exeter.
The Exeter Hawks are preparing for a crucial Game 7 tonight in their best of seven series against the Port Stanley Sailors, and center Michael Kenney knows what’s at stake. The local hockey player, is excited to play in front of passionate hometown fans as the team fights to keep its playoff run alive.
Kenney, who grew up just outside Exeter in Crediton, started his hockey journey with the South Huron Sabres before joining the Hawks.
Though he usually plays other positions, injuries led the team to try him at center, and he has thrived in the role.
For Michael, playing for his hometown team is a special experience.
Now into the playoff run, Michael said the team has had a lot of time to bond.
He mentioned the Hawks’ fan base is known for its energy, and believes their support gives the team an extra boost, especially on home ice.
With the season on the line, Kenney knows what the team needs to do.
As the Hawks prepare for the must-win game, Michael has a message for the fans.
Game 7 is set for tonight, and with home-ice advantage, the Hawks are hoping their loyal fans will help push them to victory.
