F.E. Madill Secondary School in Wingham is holding an important information session about human trafficking. The event is being organized in partnership with the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Huron County Victim Services.
The session will take place on April 29 at 7:00 p.m. at the school, which is located at 231 Madill Drive in Wingham. Everyone in the community is welcome to attend.
Guest speakers include Jenn Evans, Operations Manager for Victim Services Huron-Perth, and Ashley Horton, a Detective Sergeant with the OPP.
Human trafficking is a growing problem in Ontario. Many victims are targeted in smaller towns, and traffickers often look for people who are vulnerable. The session will help people learn more about how trafficking happens and how to keep their families and communities safe.
Organizers hope the event will raise awareness and give people the tools to recognize and report suspicious activity.
