A traffic complaint in Grand Bend early Saturday morning led to one person being arrested and charged with impaired driving.
On May 3rd, just after 12:20 a.m., the Lambton County OPP received a call about a possible driving issue in the area. Officers quickly responded and found the vehicle on Ontario Street South. After speaking with the driver, police began an investigation.
The driver, a 35-year-old from Wallaceburg, was arrested and now faces several charges. These include driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs, refusing to give a breath sample, failing to show a driver’s licence, and driving a vehicle without a valid permit.
As a result, the drivers licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. He has been released and is expected to appear in court in Sarnia.
The OPP says keeping the community safe is their top priority and reminds drivers that impaired driving is dangerous and against the law. If you see anything suspicious or believe someone may be driving impaired, call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
