New banners have up in downtown Exeter this week as part of a project by the Exeter Business Improvement Area (BIA). The banners are designed to celebrate the town’s rich history and show pride in Canada.
Caroline Hill, Business Manager for the Exeter BIA, said the project is about more than just decoration.
In addition to the usual “Come Experience Exeter” banners, visitors will now see Canadian flag designs proudly displayed across the downtown area. The banners are being installed with the help of the South Huron roads crew and will stay up until the Remembrance Day banners go up in October.
Hill explained that the idea for the new banners came shortly after she started with the BIA in November.
It quickly grew into a larger effort to boost local pride and support small businesses in the area.
The Exeter BIA invites everyone to visit the downtown core, look up at the new banners, and take in the charm and history of the community.
