The South Huron Hospital Auxiliary is getting ready to host its popular Rummage Sale once again. The community event will take place at the South Huron Recreation Centre in Exeter on Friday, May 23rd from 2:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 24th from 9 a.m. to noon.
Barb Down, a member of the Auxiliary team explains the rummage sale.
This year, drop-off day for donations is Thursday, May 22 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Down gave myFM a run down on items that are being accepted and those that are not.
Full donation guidelines are available on posters around town, the South Huron Hospital Auxiliary Facebook page, local buy-and-sell sites, or around town in Exeter.
Funds raised at the rummage sale go directly toward buying equipment for the South Huron Hospital to improve patient care. Down says the event is about more than just shopping.
The event is cash only and shoppers are encouraged to bring their own bags. Volunteers are always welcome.
In addition to the rummage sale, the Auxiliary also runs a gift shop at the hospital, open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., where all proceeds also support local health care.
