The IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s is set to take place on Saturday. Erin Dale, Manager of Fund Development, Communications, and Volunteers at the Alzheimer Society of Perth and Huron, told myFM the details.
Dale says this event is one of their most important fundraisers of the year.
The money raised from the walk stays local and supports programs for people living with dementia and their families.
Participants can register online at walkforalzheimers.ca by selecting Ontario and choosing their local community. People can sign up as individuals or teams, and those unable to attend the walk can still support the cause by making a donation. Pledge forms are available online or can be picked up at Alzheimer Society offices in Clinton or Stratford.
Dale says the walk is part of a nationwide effort, with events held in communities across Canada to raise awareness and funds for dementia support. She adds that nearly everyone knows someone affected by dementia.
