A unique, family-friendly event is coming to Huron County on Saturday, and it promises to bring history to life like never before.
Hosted by the Huron County Cultural Services Department, the event is called In Time and is being held at the historic Huron County Gaol in Goderich. Organized in partnership with the performance group Live History, the experience combines elements of an escape room with local history and live theatre.
Jim Seale, Programming and Community Engagement Coordinator for the county’s Cultural Services Department, says the event is a one-of-a-kind way to connect with the past.
Participants will interact with live actors dressed in historical costumes, portraying notable figures from Huron County’s past. With help from these characters, guests will solve puzzles and search for clues during a one-hour session. If they succeed, they “escape” the jail.
Seale describes the event as part scavenger hunt, part theatre performance, and fully immersive.
Tickets are available through Eventbrite until the morning of Saturday, May 31st. After that, remaining tickets can be purchased at the door. Adult tickets cost $25, while tickets for children under 16 are $10. Each group will take part in the experience for about 45 minutes to an hour, and the event runs for a total of seven hours throughout the day.
