Ausable Bayfield Conservation Foundation is offering a $1,000 scholarship to support a local student who is passionate about the environment. The Student Environmental Grant is open to graduating high school students and students already attending college or university.
To be eligible, students must be between 17 and 25 years old and live in one of the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority’s member municipalities. They must be enrolled in or planning to attend a post-secondary program related to conservation or the environment. This includes fields such as biology, ecology, geography, forestry, fish and wildlife, agriculture, or outdoor education.
Only students with a permanent address in the following municipalities can apply: Adelaide Metcalfe, Bluewater, Central Huron, Huron East, Lambton Shores, Lucan Biddulph, Perth South, Middlesex Centre, North Middlesex, South Huron, Warwick, and West Perth.
Over the years, more than a dozen local students have benefited from this award. The scholarship is made possible by generous donors and community fundraising efforts.
The deadline to apply is Friday, June 20, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. local time. Full details and the application form are available at abca.ca/foundation/projects.
