HCFBDC Golf 2023
The Huron County Food Bank Distribution Centre is gearing up for its fifth annual charity golf tournament, set to take place on Saturday, June 14th at the Seaforth Golf Club.
Chris Allen, the newly appointed Executive Director who started on May 1st, says he’s excited to be part of the event for the first time.
The tournament will begin with a 1 p.m. shotgun start.
The cost to participate is $150 per person, which includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, a light lunch, and dinner after the game.
There’s also a special Hole-in-One contest, where the first person to sink a hole-in-one on a selected hole will win $25,000.
Registration is still open, and spots are available.
Food insecurity is growing, and it affects everyone, young, old, families and single people alike.
Allen says the public’s support is vital, and there are many ways to help including volunteering with sorting food or helping at mobile food banks.
The event will go ahead rain or shine, so participants are encouraged to bring an umbrella just in case.
