Exeter is getting ready to celebrate Canada Day in a big way this year with a special community event on Saturday, June 28th in the downtown parkette.
Business Manager of the Exeter BIA, Caroline Hill says the event will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is meant to bring families and neighbours together while marking the start of the holiday weekend.
The event is free to attend, but donations are encouraged in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Huron, who are helping to organize the fun.
The celebration is part of a bigger effort by the Huron Togetherness Project, which is also planning other events in and around Exeter that same day. Hill says it’s a great chance for residents and visitors to enjoy the downtown area and connect with others.
The event will take place in the heart of Exeter, between the Legion, Town Hall, and the downtown parkette, and is expected to bring a festive start to the Canada Day long weekend.
