With a heat warning in effect, the Municipality of Bluewater is reminding residents that there are several places available to help stay cool.
Both the Zurich and Hensall Arenas are open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day, offering air-conditioned spaces where people can take a break from the heat. Splash pads are also open, including the Hensall Splash Pad next to the Hensall Arena and the Bayfield Splash Pad in Clan Gregor Square. Bluewater’s three public libraries are open during regular hours and also offer a cool place to rest. Residents are encouraged to call their local branch for more information.
Everyone is urged to watch for signs of heat exhaustion, such as headache, dizziness, nausea, dark urine, and extreme tiredness. It’s important to drink plenty of water, avoid heavy outdoor activity during the hottest parts of the day, and check in on neighbours, friends, and family, especially those who may be more at risk.
