It’s another hot day across the Municipality of South Huron, and officials are reminding everyone to take care in the heat.
If you’re looking to cool down, there are several public spots open to help you beat the heat. Town Hall is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and local libraries in Exeter and Kirkton are also welcoming visitors, check the Huron County Library website for hours. The Exeter Pool, Splash Pad, and Kirkton Pool are great options as well. Full hours can be found on the South Huron website.
Residents can also take a break in the shade at one of South Huron’s many parks, such as Crediton Conservation Area, Victoria Park, Elliott Park, or Port Blake Day Park.
To stay safe, remember to drink lots of water, avoid heavy activity during the hottest part of the day between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., and wear light, breathable clothing. Don’t forget to check in on family, friends, and neighbours.
