Canada Day is coming up tomorrow and the day is expected to bring a mix of sun and cloud so make sure to have some sunscreen handy. However, weather can change on a dime so its best to check the forecast before going anywhere!
If you’re making plans, it’s important to remember that many local businesses have given their employees a much deserved day off.
Some stores will still be open, like Hansen’s Independent Grocer and Foodland in Exeter, both operating from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., while Sobeys in Grand Bend will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. If you’re heading out for something specific, it’s a good idea to check with the store first.
Government offices, banks, libraries, and most municipal services will be closed for the day, along with all LCBO and Beer Store locations.
Emergency rooms will stay open, but some walk-in clinics may be closed. Emergency services will continue to be available if needed.
If you are headed to Grand Bend to watch the firework show, and enjoy the beach party, keep in mind there will be increased traffic from visitors and with that increased OPP patrols.
Be sure to share the road, our community, and your kindness with visitors as we take the time to celebrate Canada’s birthday.
myFM news will be back on Wednesday, have a safe and happy Canada Day!
