The streets of Bayfield will roar with excitement this weekend as Vettefest returns for its 17th year.
Elaine Coombs, who has helped organize Vettefest for the last decade, says the show has grown from about 100 cars in its first year.
The weekend kicks off Friday evening with a Corvette cruise.
This year, the cruise will wrap up with a buffet at The Little Inn of Bayfield.
On Saturday, the main show gets underway at 8 a.m. in Clan Gregor Square. Corvette owners can arrive that morning, no advance registration needed.
By afternoon, the park and surrounding streets are usually packed with shiny Corvettes, spectators, and families enjoying the sights. The day also features door prizes, a 50/50 draw, and plenty of shopping and dining in town.
Vettefest is entirely run by volunteers, with help from family, friends, and local groups. The event also makes a big impact by donating all proceeds to local charities.
Last year, Vettefest gave $6,000 to groups like the Bayfield Skating Club, the Town Hall, Bayfield Forgotten Felines, Miracle Max’s Minions, and more.
Anyone is welcome to come out, walk around, and take in hundreds of stunning Corvettes from all eras. Vettefest runs Friday evening and all day Saturday, wrapping up around 3 p.m.
