The streets of Exeter will be buzzing with excitement as the annual sidewalk sales run until Saturday. Caroline Hill, Business Manager of the Exeter BIA, says this long-standing event is a summer tradition that locals and visitors look forward to every year.
The sidewalk sales give local businesses a chance to set up outdoors and welcome shoppers in a fun, relaxed way.
Hill tells us that several popular businesses are taking part.
For those looking for something beyond clothes and books, McLean’s Home Hardware and Source for Sports will have their big tent sales too. And this year, there’s even more variety as Tirecraft will be joining in with a clearance sale on parts and accessories, making sure there’s something for everyone, including the guys.
Hill says one of the best things about the sidewalk sales is seeing people try out new shops and find deals they didn’t expect. Whether it’s shopping for shoes, clothes, or even truck accessories, it’s a great way to enjoy the community and support local businesses.
The event runs rain or shine, so if the weather doesn’t cooperate, shoppers can still head indoors to browse.
Hill encourages any Main Street businesses that haven’t signed up yet to reach out—it’s not too late to take part.
The BIA will be sharing updates and live posts on their social media page, Experience Exeter, so people can keep up with all the latest deals and happenings.
