The Zurich Country Fair is back for its 161st year, bringing three days of fun, tradition, and community spirit to town. The fair takes place July 25th, 26th, and 27th.
Jenna Becker, Treasurer of the Zurich Agricultural Society and Zurich Country Fair, says the event is a long-standing tradition that means a lot to the community.
The fun starts Friday, July 25th.
That evening, visitors can enjoy fireworks and a food truck at the Ball Diamond.
Saturday, July 26th is packed with events, including an amateur horse show, livestock exhibits, 4-H displays, and shows featuring goats, sheep, and rabbits. Families can look forward to the baby show, mini tractor pull, and a variety of youth activities and games. The official opening ceremonies also take place on Saturday.
Tickets for the evening are $20 and include a chance to win up to $2,000 in prize money. Becker recommends getting tickets early.
The fun continues Sunday, July 27th with the return of the Stone Boat Pullers and more food trucks at the back of the arena.
The fair runs rain or shine, and Becker says they’ve been lucky with the weather in recent years.
Organizers are also looking for volunteers to help during the fair and throughout the year.
She adds that the fair is more than just an event.
