What started as a family farm in Dashwood back in the early days has now grown into a third-generation operation, blending tradition with modern farming techniques.
In 1982, Martin Van Raayand his wife Teresa began their journey together on the farm. At the time, Martin had recently come home to work alongside his father, helping run the family’s pig operation.
The story of the farm began even earlier when Martin’s parents immigrated from Holland and purchased the land. They started with dairy farming before switching to pigs. Later, when Martin returned home, the operation expanded into a farrow-to-finish pig farm, raising pigs from birth through to market.
Now, the third generation is fully involved.
After 40 years on the land, the family remains committed to passing down their knowledge and passion for farming to the next generation.
