The Civic Holiday is just around the corner on Monday, and many local businesses are giving their staff a well-earned break. If you’re planning to get out and about, keep in mind that hours of operation will vary across the region.
Some grocery stores will remain open to help you pick up last-minute items. Hansen’s Independent Grocer and Foodland in Exeter will both be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., while Sobeys in Grand Bend will keep its doors open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. It’s a good idea to check directly with stores before heading out, as hours may differ.
Most government offices, libraries, banks, and municipal services will be closed for the day. LCBO and Beer Store locations will also be closed.
Emergency departments will stay open throughout the long weekend, but some outpatient clinics may not be available. Emergency services remain ready to respond if needed.
As you enjoy the day, don’t forget to share the roads—and your patience—with others. Let’s keep the holiday safe and kind for everyone.
myFM News will return on Tuesday. Have a happy and relaxing long weekend!
