The Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board is inviting local families to help welcome students from around the world for the 2025–2026 school year.
Through its International Student Program, the board offers young people from other countries a chance to experience Canadian education and culture while also bringing new perspectives and diversity into local schools. This year, students from Brazil, Spain, and Japan have already been accepted, with more applications coming in from those countries and beyond.
International students will attend either St. Anne’s Catholic Secondary School in Clinton or St. Michael Catholic Secondary School in Stratford. They will receive the same high-quality education as all students in the board, along with the warmth and hospitality of the Huron-Perth community.
To meet the growing demand, the board is looking for more host families in Huron and Perth Counties who can open their homes for one semester or the full school year. Host families, supported by MLI Homestay, receive compensation and are asked to provide three daily meals, snacks, a private bedroom, a shared bathroom, and a welcoming family environment.
Families interested in hosting can learn more at mlihomestay.com. For details about the International Student Program, visit huronperthcatholic.ca or contact Chris Grace, Principal of the International Student Program, at cgrace@huronperthcatholic.ca.
